Halloween Countdown Printable

Halloween Countdown 20115

October is a busy and crazy month for us in our home. We have 2 more weeks until we are reunited with my husband, 3 1/2 weeks until Disneyland, 4 weeks until we move to Washington, and less than a week after that we celebrate Halloween! I wasn’t kidding when I said our month was busy… We have so many exciting things happening in the month of October, and JD is such a silly kid, he has to know when everything is happening. Because of this, we have to have countdowns to help him out.

We love countdowns in our house, and now that JD is familiar with his numbers, this is a great way for him to learn addition and subtraction. Now, if you’re like me and you just like to cross off days and see how many more days we have left until a certain holiday or big day, then this is just the thing for you. And, if you are in need of some more decorations in your house for Halloween, you’ll enjoy seeing this Halloween Countdown Printable everyday.

Families are Forever Printable

Families are Forever Printable

I had a hard time coming up with a printable for this simple phrase. I wasn’t sure if I should make it overly extravagant, or keep it simple. I’d like to think I kept it in the middle, and let “Families are Forever” stand out more. And can I just say how glad I am that I get to be with my cute little family forever, even through the roughest of days, they’re the ones I want to keep with me for eternity. 🙂

This printable is perfect to hang in your home whether it be surrounded by pictures of your family, or hung up by itself somewhere in your home. It is the perfect reminder that families are important and a great reminder of what an amazing blessing this is from our Heavenly Father.

Halloween Goodie Bags

Halloween Goodie Bags Display

I am so excited for Halloween, and there are a couple of reasons for it. Number one, my husband has been away for army training since the middle of June, and two weeks before Halloween he’ll finally be done and be back home just in time for trick or treating. Number two, I’m pretty excited about my kids Halloween costumes this year. JD is only 4, so it took him a while to finally decide what he was going to be for Halloween. When he said that he wanted to be Woody for Halloween 3 times in a row, I knew he had “made up his mind.” I decided I was going to be ambitious this Halloween and “make” his costume this year! And when I say “make,” I mean pulling stuff together to make a costume, but hopefully not wasting too much money and maybe get to use some of the stuff again after Halloween is over.

With JD being Woody, Danny who will be 2 in three months (that’s so crazy!) will be Buzz Lighter! They’re going to look so cute together! My husband and I like to dress up too, so I’ll be Jessie and my husband’s thinking of going as Andy. JD and I kept coming up with a few different options for him… but he didn’t like the idea of being a green soldier, Rex, Mr. Potato Head, or the Piggy bank. At least Andy will be easy!

So, with Halloween on my mind, I’m getting a small head start on some Halloween printables. These Halloween Goodie Bags were quick and easy to make, and that’s what I love about them. I whipped three goodie bags in less than 10 minutes (that includes printing the printables, cutting, and setting up the sewing machine).

If you’re looking for something fun for your kids to pass out in their classes this Halloween, you’ll definitely be needing these!

Materials:

Paper

Scissors

Sewing machine

Small candy (Candy Corn, Hershey Nuggets, fun sized Kit Kat, etc)

Here’s how:

Halloween Goodie Bags

Cut out your printables.

Halloween Goodie Bags 2

Fold them in half. This makes it easier to sew without having to worry if the papers aren’t lined up.

Halloween Goodie Bags 3

Sew 3 sides and leave the top open.

Halloween Goodie Bags 4

Insert your candy of choice. It’s best to use small candy with these, like candy corn, or 1-2 Hershey Nuggets, etc. These aren’t very big pouches.

Halloween Goodie Bags 8

Sew the top closed and you’re done!

If you don’t have a sewing machine, you can staple the sides closed. If you don’t want to sew or staple them shut, I’ve included the front of the goodie bags that you can cut out and paste onto a bag. They’re perfect for any Halloween occasion, and your friends will love them!

2016 Calendar Printable

CALENDAR 2016

I have received many requests over the summer for a 2016 calendar printable, and I am finally ready to share next year’s calendar. I cannot believe how quickly this year has gone and in 4 short month’s we’ll already be bringing in another year!

We are excited to be spending the next year in Washington… JD cannot contain himself with his excitement about the big move. Just the other day, someone said “hi” to him and asked him how he was doing. He proceeded to tell him his current situation of how his Dad is gone (for military training), and that we’ll be moving to Washington soon. The kid has no filter and will pretty much tell you his life story.

CALENDAR 2016 3

The 2015 Calendar Printable has been a huge hit and I’m so glad so many of you have downloaded your printable and love it. For the 2016 Calendar, I have created a few new designs that I hope you’ll like! I wanted to keep the same feel of the last calendar, but with a few new fun and fresh designs to help keep you somewhat calm during some of your busiest months. You’re going to have fun staying organized with this cute 2016 Calendar!

*UPDATE* I’ve also included a landscape version of the printable! The only problem, I somehow could not squeeze the entire year onto my document, so it’s been split up into two downloads. So don’t forget to download both parts for the Landscape version only!

Back to School “Fish” Treats

O Fish ally labels 2  After a nice, long summer hiatus, I have finally returned. I wasn’t planning on taking a leave of absence, but this summer has been a busy, but fun one! We had a month long of cousin fun, visited new museums, parks and swim centers, and enjoyed getting our tan on. I am definitely much darker than I was the beginning of summer and my kids have very noticeable tan lines… it cracks me up! Their bums have never looked so white.

I know that many schools are already back in session, but my mother-in-law is a school teacher, and their first day is tomorrow. This past week, she’s been in crunch mode and I was able to help out with getting her classroom already for the school year. JD, who is 1 year away from starting kindergarten, has been having a blast helping his Grammy set up her class.

Normally, my MIL is a speech therapist, but this year she’s teaching Kindergarten and asked me to create these adorable “Fish” treats to give to her class. In addition to kindergarten, I’ve also created labels for all the grades in elementary school and preschool. Your kids are going to love these!

O Fish Ally Label

Since I created these in Adobe Illustrator, I did my best to line them up to the Avery Template 5263 labels. They aren’t perfect, but I’ve created PDF files that will fit onto those labels and get the job done. If you can figure it out in Word or in another program, I also made a separate .JPG file that you can paste in Word or another program and set them up that way.

O Fish Ally Labels 4

Hope you and your kids have a great school year!!!

Father’s Day Gift – “Sweet Reminders”

FATHER'S DAY GIFT 3

My husband is leaving for four months for Army training tomorrow and we are all so sad about it. I wanted to make something so he’d remember how much he means to us and wanted my kids to take part in it. He loved it, and before he opens a piece of chocolate he gets to see a reminder of why he is the World’s Greatest Dad!

This is such a fun little project to do with your kids and to let their Dad know how much he means to them. All you need is a mason jar and some Hershey’s Nuggets to wrap these printables around. For the Hershey’s Nugget wrappers, I’m sharing the one we did for my husband and you can pick and choose whatever best fits your Dad (or Grandpa) or have fun coming up with your own reasons of why your Dad is the World’s Greatest Dad. It’s the perfect “sentimental” gift to give for Father’s Day and a “Sweet Reminder” of why he’s awesome!

Father's Day Tag

I was asked by the Relief Society in my ward to make a tag to attach to these awesome “bow tied” sweet treats for Father’s day. I was totally in love with this idea, and wanted these gift tags to fit the theme of the candy. These gift tags go perfect with any gift, and I’ve created them in four different colors to match any candy or gift wrap to give to Dad this weekend. What will you use these gift tags for?
