Printable Birthday Calendar

Birthday calendar 1

I have been wanting to make one of these Birthday Calendars for a long time, and I’ve finally done it! I had seen so many cute ideas on Pinterest, but was always worried I’d mess it up. You see, when it comes to painting on wood, I find a way to screw it up and then I’m done with that project. I never want to see it again basically. Although, I remembered something my super talented SIL and friend (Tammy & Liz) did last year and I absolutely loved it!

Birthday C 2      Birthday C

I wanted to create something just like that, but didn’t want to have to deal with a painting fiasco. So, I came up with a solution and a printable that you can use too. It is extremely easy and all you need is:

Materials:

A Printer

Scissors

Picture Frame (make sure the surface is flat)

Drawer Knob

White Card Stock

Glitter Paper

Birthday Cake Printable (Download for 5×7 | 8x10)

Chalkboard tags + a small piece of string

Glue (Modge Podge)

Glue Gun

Instructions:

1. Print out your background from the following options below.

2. On a separate sheet of paper, print out the “birthday cake” and cut those pieces out. (I’ve tried printing on glitter paper, and it did not work out well, so DON’T do it!)

BIRTHDAY CALENDAR 2

3. Trace the “birthday cake” onto the back of the glitter paper and cut those pieces out.

4. Glue the glitter “birthday cake” pieces onto the background you printed out.

Birthday Calendar 3

5. While you’re waiting for the glue to dry, hot glue your drawer knob at the bottom (center) of your picture frame.

Birthday calendar 5

6. Once everything is dry, stick the Birthday Cake Background into the frame and hang up your family & friend’s birthdays that you’ve written on the chalkboard tags onto the drawer knob and you’re done!

Birthday Calendar 4

Easy, right? I’ve created 3 different backgrounds in 12 different colors. So pick your favorite and have fun creating you’re own Birthday Calendar! color-swatches

Spring Baby Shower + Free Printables

Spring-Baby-Shower

Last weekend I threw a baby shower for my friend, Stephany, who’s having her first baby! I’ve had so much the last couple of weeks channeling my girly side and planning this baby shower, since most of the stuff I do is for my boys. We had fun eating, smelling “poopy” diapers, tasting baby food, avoiding the word “baby” and seeing how much the daddy-to-be knew about babies. It was the perfect way to get the mommy-to-be excited about her baby!

Today, I’m also sharing the printables I used for this party and hope that it will help you plan your next baby shower. If you haven’t played any of these games, you should definitely consider them at the next shower you host!

Temple Time Capsule Printables

Temple Time Capsules Display

When I was in Young Women, I remember putting together these Temple Time Capsules. We got to choose our future wedding dress, colors, flowers, the whole nine-yards, but most importantly the temple we wanted to get married in. In our church, we believe that we can be married for eternity by the sealing power of the Priesthood. This can only be done in one of the many LDS Temples throughout the world. (To learn more about it, visit LDS.org).

I was so excited about the Temple Time Capsules, and had so much fun doing it. I even waited until the day I got engaged to open it! It was fun to see the style and the wedding ideas I picked back when I was 12-13 years old and how much it had changed over the years. I thought it would be fun to bring this back and do the same activity with the Young Women in our ward. They had a lot of fun and got to look through magazines for wedding ideas, picked a Modest wedding dress, write down the qualities in their future husband, as well as the qualities they wanted to develop in themselves.

Here are the printables we used for the activity. I thought we could do this activity in one night, but you will definitely need more than an hour to finish this project. There is no wrong way to do this activity. It is a night for the girls to plan out their future wedding, and to remind them about the importance of a temple marriage.

Things you’ll need:

-Empty food storage can (or a container like Tupperware, etc.)

-Wedding Magazines for wedding inspiration

-Pictures of (modest) wedding dresses – I printed my from online websites like Margene’s bridal

-Artificial roses (Dollar Store is great! Just clip off rose buds from their bundles)

-Wedding favor bubbles

-Tea candle (another Dollar Store purchase)

-Ensign articles about marriage (this fulfills the “Instruction Plan” in your ingredients list). Ever Love Design picked out a great set of articles to give the girls:

Divorce” April 2007
Our Solemn Responsibilities” November 1991
Beware of Pride” May 1998

Everyday, I’m grateful that I can be with my husband and my family for eternity. It has been one of the greatest decisions I’ve made and one of the best days of my life. What a great blessing it is to have Temples on the earth.

Tissue Paper Cupcake Wrap

Cupcake Tissue Paper 6

I was up late trying to quickly finish cupcakes for my friend’s Mint, Pink & Gold Baby Shower earlier this week. I had just designed and printed out cupcake wrappers and started to cut out the first wrap. I taped the wrap onto the cupcake and thought that it was going to take way too much time for me to finish the rest of them. I looked over at my dining room table and saw that I still had some of the gold polka dotted tissue paper laying there. Whether or not this idea is completely original, I had to try it out. I cut down the tissue paper to fit the cupcake, stuck it into a plastic cup and it looked cute and most importantly, it was going to save me lots of time!

Here’s how I did it:

IMG_5188

I cut down my tissue paper to a 5×5 square (sizes will vary by cupcake).

Cupcake Tissue Paper

Gather the sides of the tissue paper and wrap it around the cupcake.

Cupcake Tissue Paper 2

Stick your cupcake and tissue paper wrap into the cup.

Cupcake Tissue paper 3

Ice your cupcake, making sure the icing doesn’t touch the tissue paper.

Cupcake Tissue Paper 4

Last, but not least, insert the cupcake into a candy bag and wrap it with ribbon or baker’s twine and it’s ready to be used at your next party! These were super easy and such a great time saver! Don’t be surprised if you see me using these more than once!

Mint, Pink & Gold Baby Shower + Printables

Baby-Shower-Mint-Pink-and-GoldOur good friend Rachelle (who is also an amazing photographer) is having a baby in less than 3 weeks and we wanted to throw a baby shower for her. We tried to keep it simple, and had a pancake bar that included a super delicious homemade buttermilk and strawberry syrup. Everything was delicious, and we had lots of fun celebrating Rachelle and her baby! We can’t wait to meet her little girl soon!!!

Photo Credit goes to Rachelle Packard. (I must make a side note that I did the editing on the photos, as they are nowhere close to how good Rachelle’s photography and editing skills are).

When it came to designing printables, I followed these color palettes.

Baseball Printables

Baseball Printables

It’s that time of year again – baseball season has begun. It’s the start of a brand new year, and the hope that your team will do better than the last. It’s a brand new team that has been given a clean slate. In my home, Opening Day is considered a Holiday, and we are die hard Oakland Athletics fans (I married into it). I was never a baseball fan, or a sport fan in general, and yet after 5+ years of marriage it has slowly grown on me. My husband grew up going to A’s games, and now that we have a family of our own, it’s turned into a family event. I can now say I enjoy going to baseball games, especially since both our boys love it.

I’ve slowly been turning our boy’s room into a Baseball/Oakland A’s bedroom, and I’ve finally gotten around to making some wall art for their room. If you’re family is as big a fan of baseball as we are, then you’re going to love these Baseball Printables. I’ve created two versions of the quote “Baseball isn’t just a game, it’s Life,” and “Let’s Play Ball” with a few different colors to match your favorite teams. Hope you’re enjoying the beginning of baseball season as much as we are!

Let’s go Oakland!

Easter Cupcake Toppers & Liners

Easter Cupcake Topper and Liner Display

The Cadburry Eggs make another appearance! Seriously, I have no will power when it comes to these things. They are just so good, I’d trade them in for cupcakes! 🙂 Which is what I did in today’s project. I was used plain party cups (the size I used were 2 inch dia) and gave them a quick Easter “make over.” Here’s what I did.

Materials Needed:

Paper Party Cups (2 inch dia)

Tape

Scissors

Paper Party Cup Liners – download here

Paper Straws

Easter Cupcake Toppers – download here

Side note: If you’re using regular cupcakes, download these cupcake liners in the following colors: Blue | Yellow | Green | Pink

Easter Cupcake Topper 1

1. Use these Party Cup Liner printables. Cut out your liner and make a circle.

Easter Cupcake Topper 2

2. Measure it around your party cup to make sure it will fit. It’s not going to be perfect on the bottom, but you won’t notice it unless you pick it up. Grab some tape and place it at the end of the liner.

Easter Cupcake Topper 4

3. Place some Easter Basket grass in the cup and insert your cupcake topper.

4. Strategically add your Easter Candy of choice to keep the cupcake topper standing, and you’re done!

Mini Easter Baskets – Free Printable

Mini Easter Baskets Display

I have to admit, last year was the first year I ever had a Cadbury Egg (or it had been a VERY long time since I had one) and I fell in LOVE! I have been addicted to them and have to control myself whenever I have them in my house, so as you can imagine, taking pictures of these Mini Easter Baskets was not easy. On the other hand, these Mini Easter Baskets are very easy to put together.

You can use these as part of your table setting for the “Kids Table” (or the “Adult Table”) at Easter Dinner, use them for a party favor or a little treat to pass out to friends. I’ve created 5 different colored printable baskets, or you can use your own scrapbook paper and use the Blank Mini Easter Basket printable here to print on the back. They’re a fun addition to your Easter celebration and they’re totally budget friendly.

Here’s what you’ll need:

-Printer

-Mini Easter Basket Printable (grab the downloads below)  or (blank version here)

-Glue or Double Sided Tape

-Grass for Easter Baskets

-Easter Treat

-Easter Tags (download here)

-String

Cupcake Gift Tags & Tutorial

Cupcake Gift tag Display

This time of year is the busiest for our family as we celebrate birthdays. With March and April combined, we have a total of 8 birthdays (April being the busiest)! With these upcoming birthdays in mind, I wanted get a head start on these Cupcake Gift Tags.

These Cupcake Gift Tags are so easy to put together and look so cute on top of a birthday present. You can make these ahead of time, store them and use when a birthday has snuck up on you. My favorite thing about these Cupcake Gift Tags is you can use any type of scrapbook paper to make them gender friendly, or go perfectly with your wrapping paper! The possibilities are endless and you’re birthday boy or girl will love them (and your gift)!

Materials Needed:

Cupcake Top Printable (Blank copy here)

Cupcake Liner Printable (Blank copy here)

Scrapbook Paper

Mod Podge or Glue

Scissors

String (or bakers twine)

1 Cupcake Gift Card

Step 1: Choose your scrapbook paper of choice.

0 Cupcake Gift Tag

Step 2: Print the Cupcake Tops & Cupcake Liner printables on the back of your scrapbook paper. If your scrapbook paper doesn’t fit in your printer, you can always trace the printables onto the back of your scrapbook paper.

2 Cupcake Gift Card

Step 3: Cut out your cupcakes and match the cupcake tops with the cupcake liners.

3 Glue Cupcake Gift Tag

Step 4: Use a small amount of Mod Podge or glue on the very top of the cupcake liner and stick it onto the very bottom of the cupcake top (the curvy part of the cupcake top). When the glue is dry, punch a hole at the top and insert a piece of string, and you’re done! To really go with the theme, use some matching bakers twine instead of string.
