Free Printable Halloween Gift Tags

It may only be August, but I’m excited and ready for Halloween! Part of the reason may be because we live in Texas and am ready for the cooler temps, but I love this time of year. I love all the decorations, the get togethers, and all the food.

Chocolate is my biggest weakness and I struggle to say no to it. This is probably a big part of why I love this time of year so much. All of the sweets and did I mention the delicious food?

We’ve already started thinking about what costumes our kids are going to wear for Halloween, and at the moment they’re saying they’re sticking to what they’ve picked out this year. I highly doubt our 6 year old has completely made up her mind, but she has a couple more months to decide! We’re in no rush, but it’s fun to plan already.

I’m sharing these cute gift tags to attach to treat bags for school parties, party favors or to hand out for trick or treat-ers on Halloween! There are 3 different options to choose from! If you love all 3, print them all out. if there is one or two that match better with your party theme, there’s that option as well.

I’m using these Kraft Paper Treat Bags to fill small treats in and a small clothes pin to secure the tag to it. You could easily turn these gift tags into stickers or hole punch them through the tags and attach them to bags with ribbon.

Spooky Treats Cricut Project

It’s been too long since my last post! My family and I moved to Texas two months ago, and I’ve made it back into the world of working full time, and things have been busy! But, I’ve finally managed to share a fun and quick project that is easy to pull off with your Cricut!

I love decorating our house for the holidays, and although my kids will probably end up getting too much chocolate for Halloween, it’s fun to display some Halloween candy in the home in this little jar. You can also take this into the office or gift it to a friend. Here’s how easy this project is:

Materials:

“Spooky Treats” cut out file

Small Vase (or jar, make sure there is a smooth glass surface)

Gold Foil Adhesive

Cricut

Download the “Spooky Treats” cut out file, and load it into your Cricut Design Space. Determine the size of your vase and how big you’d like the cut out to be. Once the file has been cut out, place the adhesive onto your vase/jar and smooth out as much of the bubbles as you can (this is probably the only hard part). Fill up your jar with fun size candy, and you’re all done!

Out of Treats Halloween Printable

It’s almost Halloween, can you believe it? We are counting down the days and are excited about going to all the Halloween festivities these next couple of weeks! We have 2 trunk or treats we’re going to back to back next week and my kids will have candy for days! I have a massive sweet tooth, so it will be really tricky to avoid all those treats!

Speaking of treats, last year I shared this Out of Treats Halloween Sign over at Eighteen25 and it worked out perfectly at our house. As soon as all our candy was gone, I switched the sign and nobody knocked on our door when the “Out of Treats” sign was up. It was great! It’s super easy to make and you only need a picture frame and ribbon to complete this look!

Halloween Lunch Box Jokes

My 1st grader is a total goofball and knows it. He also loves hearing jokes and tries to make up his own knock knock jokes even if they aren’t very good. Now that he’s able to read, I thought it would be fun to put some Halloween Jokes in his lunches when he goes to school so he can get a bit of a laugh during the day. Now he can try and make his friends laugh in the lunch room too!

All of the answers are on the bottom of the of each cut out and upside down to make it a little trickier for your kiddo to see the answer. We’ve Been Booed Printable

weve-been-booed-printable I have never done this before, so I’m pretty excited to do it this year! If you’ve never heard about the “Boo” game, it’s pretty easy! All you have to do is stick a couple of goodies inside a bag, trick or treat bucket, etc. and print out 3 copies of this printable. The “We’ve been Booed” sign goes on the outside, and the instructions along with the remaining two copies you printed off goes inside your goodie bag. Sneakily put your gift in front of two of your neighbors doors and watch the “booing” spread throughout your neighborhood!

Trick or Treat Popcorn Munch + Free Printable

It’s National Popcorn Popping month, and with Halloween around the corner, I’ve decided to “dress up my popcorn.” With all this candy floating around the stores, it’s hard to not want to buy any before Halloween, am I right? So if you’re like me, or have some extra candy lying around, you’ll want to try this popcorn recipe, because it is pretty stinkin’ good! And believe me when I say I will be making this again after my kids get their haul on Halloween.

Things you’ll need:

Original SkinnyPop Popcorn (4.4 oz) or 2 bags of microwave popcorn

Orange Candy Melts

2 Cups Chopped Chocolate (mixed variety)

Sprinkles

First of all, meet Danny. This recipe has been Danny tested and Danny approved! And his approval is important since he is our popcorn eating machine! 🙂

Pour half of your popcorn in a bowl and pour melted candy melts over the popcorn and mix well. Make sure you cover as much popcorn as you can with the candy melts.

Lay out your chocolate covered popcorn on a cookie sheet with parchment paper or foil and sprinkle as little or as many sprinkles your heart desires. Stick it in the freezer for 5 minutes or until the chocolate has hardened.

While your chocolate covered popcorn is in the freezer, roughly chop your candy. My mix included Twix, 3 Musketeers, Snickers, and Milkway, but you can use whatever chocolate candy you have.

Pull out your chocolate covered popcorn and start mixing in the rest of the ingredients in a large bowl. If some of your chocolate popcorn is stuck together, go ahead and break it up, it doesn’t have to be perfect. If you’re serving this at a party, set aside some sprinkles and chocolate and sprinkle it on top.

DIY Woody Costume

Ok, I’m so excited to share with you the what I call my “semi-homemade” Woody costume I put together for JD this Halloween. It was super simple, and fun to put together. Here’s what we did to get the look:

Yellow shirt. We got ours from Crazy8 on sale for $4.99! And, I love that he can just wear it anytime after Halloween is over.

Jeans. We already had these so that part was easy peasy!

Cowboy vest. I got the materials for $4.20 from Joann’s. Take advantage of their coupons! I used the tutorial for the vest from Simply Crafted.

Hat, belt & gun holder were 25% off at the Disney Store, so we paid just under $10 for these items.

Bandanna – We found this baby for a $1 at the Dollar Tree! I was going to use the leftover fabric from the vest, but saw the bandanna at the Dollar Tree and thought, “why not?”

Badge – you can make your own or just buy yours online at Amazon for $5.

Boots – Ok, these were the most expensive thing we had to buy for this costume, but I could not stand those foam boots they use for costumes, and even though I am not a fan of cow boy boots, we found these really awesome Toy Story boots that light up from Sears for $30. So, if you already own a pair, or can borrow some from a friend/cousin, then this will be the least of your worries. To justify this purchase, he will definitely be putting these to use when he helps out in our backyard with dad.

And that’s it! JD had fun going on a hunt for all of these items, and kept us busy on days where we needed to pass the time.

My absolute favorite part about this Halloween is how cute these two boys are in their Toy Story costumes! Stay tuned to see how my Jessie costume will turn out…

October is a busy and crazy month for us in our home. We have 2 more weeks until we are reunited with my husband, 3 1/2 weeks until Disneyland, 4 weeks until we move to Washington, and less than a week after that we celebrate Halloween! I wasn’t kidding when I said our month was busy… We have so many exciting things happening in the month of October, and JD is such a silly kid, he has to know when everything is happening. Because of this, we have to have countdowns to help him out.

We love countdowns in our house, and now that JD is familiar with his numbers, this is a great way for him to learn addition and subtraction. Now, if you’re like me and you just like to cross off days and see how many more days we have left until a certain holiday or big day, then this is just the thing for you. Halloween Goodie Bags

I am so excited for Halloween, and there are a couple of reasons for it. Number one, my husband has been away for army training since the middle of June, and two weeks before Halloween he’ll finally be done and be back home just in time for trick or treating. Number two, I’m pretty excited about my kids Halloween costumes this year. JD is only 4, so it took him a while to finally decide what he was going to be for Halloween. When he said that he wanted to be Woody for Halloween 3 times in a row, I knew he had “made up his mind.” I decided I was going to be ambitious this Halloween and “make” his costume this year! And when I say “make,” I mean pulling stuff together to make a costume, but hopefully not wasting too much money and maybe get to use some of the stuff again after Halloween is over.

With JD being Woody, Danny who will be 2 in three months (that’s so crazy!) will be Buzz Lighter! They’re going to look so cute together! My husband and I like to dress up too, so I’ll be Jessie and my husband’s thinking of going as Andy. JD and I kept coming up with a few different options for him… but he didn’t like the idea of being a green soldier, Rex, Mr. Potato Head, or the Piggy bank. At least Andy will be easy!

So, with Halloween on my mind, I’m getting a small head start on some Halloween printables. These Halloween Goodie Bags were quick and easy to make, and that’s what I love about them. I whipped three goodie bags in less than 10 minutes (that includes printing the printables, cutting, and setting up the sewing machine).

If you’re looking for something fun for your kids to pass out in their classes this Halloween, you’ll definitely be needing these!

Materials:

Paper

Scissors

Sewing machine

Small candy (Candy Corn, Hershey Nuggets, fun sized Kit Kat, etc)

Here’s how:

Cut out your printables.

Fold them in half. This makes it easier to sew without having to worry if the papers aren’t lined up.

Sew 3 sides and leave the top open.

Insert your candy of choice. It’s best to use small candy with these, like candy corn, or 1-2 Hershey Nuggets, etc. These aren’t very big pouches.

Sew the top closed and you’re done!

If you don’t have a sewing machine, you can staple the sides closed. If you don’t want to sew or staple them shut, I’ve included the front of the goodie bags that you can cut out and paste onto a bag. They’re perfect for any Halloween occasion, and your friends will love them!
