The first day of school is always a whirlwind of emotions, especially for kids. Whether it’s excitement to see friends again, nerves about a new teacher, or curiosity about what the school year will bring, my kids always seem to feel all the feelings at once. With one in middle school and one starting high school now (how did that happen so fast?!), I’ve seen just how much this time of year can stir up.
For younger kids, the nerves can be even bigger. That’s why I’ve always appreciated the little touches teachers add to make their students feel welcome on day one. One of the most thoughtful things I’ve seen is the “Ready Confetti” idea. It’s such a sweet, simple way to help ease those night-before-school jitters. I loved it so much, I decided to make two versions: one from the teacher and one from the parent.
What You’ll Need:
- Confetti
- Hole puncher
- Small treat bag
- Ribbon
- “Ready Confetti” printable (Teacher Version) / “Ready Confetti” printable (Parent Version)
How to Assemble:
- Fill your small treat bag with confetti and seal it.
- Punch a hole through the top of the bag and the printable.
- Thread ribbon through both and tie a cute bow to secure them together.
That’s it! So easy, and so fun.
How to Use:
On the night before school, your child can sprinkle the confetti on or around their bed, or simply place the bag under their pillow to keep the magic (and mess) contained. It’s a whimsical little ritual that helps turn nervous energy into excitement.
