VALENTINES DONUTS BANNER

I’m keeping with a theme this week. First it was these cute Mini Valentine’s Day Donuts, then I did a guest post for the girls over at Eighteen25 with a Valentines Donut Printable (which I’m super excited about!), and now I’m finishing the week with this fun Valentine’s Day Donut Banner!

My husband and I just bought our first house and we’ve been living in it for 2 months now. We absolutely love the place, especially since we didn’t even see the house in person – that was super lucky! I do not recommend it! The house is a little outdated, in some areas but it’s something we can live with. One of those places is the fireplace. I will say this, one of the best features about our fireplace is that it’s gas burning and we love having moving nights snuggled in front of it. The eyesore of the fireplace, for me at least, is everything surrounding it… there isn’t much of a “fancy mantel” and hopefully one day we’ll be able to change that.

But for now, I get to come up with different ways of decorating it with this Donut Banner. It’s a fun and playful way of displaying X’s and O’s throughout your house. Warning: it might make you hungry for donuts. 🙂

Easy Mini Valentine’s Day Donuts

mini valentines donuts

It has been crazy these past few months. We moved into our new home, I worked full time for the holiday season, and celebrated our youngest’s 2nd birthday. Now it’s time to get back to working on this little blog of mine.

We’re getting pretty excited for Valentine’s Day at our house. So yesterday, I decided to do something fun with my kids while dad was out of the house. These mini Valentine’s Day donuts are so easy to put together, my kids understood what to do pretty quickly, and they’re 5 (almost) and 2. The best part, you only need 3 ingredients!

Ingredients:

Package of Glazed (or plain) Mini Donuts – like Hostess or Little Debbie’s

Candy Melts – feel free to choose your favorite Valentine’s colors

Valentine’s Day Sprinkles

  1. Dip your donut into a bowl of melted candy chocolate.

2. Let any extra candy melts drizzle off of your donut and set on a cooling rack.

3. Grab your favorite sprinkles (look how cute those hands are! I know this picture is pretty much unnecessary but it was too cute not to share).

4. Sprinkle your hearts desire on your donut.

5. Let your donuts sit and dry off for a little bit until the chocolate has hardened. And you’re all done!

Super easy and great to do with your kids. The only downside is the clean up. Like I predicted, the sprinkles got everywhere, but it was totally worth having them do something that didn’t involve sitting in front of the TV or iPad!

What a perfect gift to give away for Valentine’s Day too!

“Be My Valentine” Cards for Boys

IMG_4195

I found out yesterday that my son’s preschool class was going to be passing out Valentine’s Day cards tomorrow. I was super excited and already had the Valentine’s Day cards I wanted to use. These ones…

I had already cut the cards out when I thought to myself, “I can’t have my son pass out girly Valentines.” I already bought the hearts to go with the cards, so I looked on Pinterest to see if they had any Valentine cards that could use the hearts and be for boys. No luck. I loved all the mustache printables I found and was inspired to put mustaches and hearts together to create this cute little gem.

It was so simple and easy to put together (seriously a great last minute project!) I placed a small dot of hot glue onto the card, had my son place a chocolate heart, and we got 30 cards done! I can’t wait for him to pass them out tomorrow.

I loved Valentine’s Day as a kid in elementary school because of all the candy you got. I could care less about the cards that came without candy, and let’s be honest who doesn’t love a little something sweet on Valentine’s Day? Because I’m a lover of candy, and all things chocolate, I’ve created a printable Valentine’s Day card that you can print out quickly and stick a chocolate heart onto. Your kids will love helping you put the chocolate hearts on, and they’ll feel like they’ve taken part of making a Valentine’s Day Card for their friends!

I’ve created two colors for you to choose from. One that is a little more pink, and one that still feels like Valentine’s Day but with a few extra colors, if you’re not into everything pink. Your friends are going to love seeing this when they walk into the room!
